My journey as a photographer started over 20 years ago, when I began my career as a middle school Life Science teacher, and could finally afford my first “real” camera.

Investigating the natural world has always defined my character. Early on, I learned to appreciate the value of patient observation, and discovered that fascinating scenes can be found in what at first glance appears ordinary.

My work demonstrates an emphasis on shape and pattern created by thoughtful composition. It exemplifies the sentiment that you do not have to travel far for wonderful photographic opportunity, as many of my favorite images were created in my own backyard.
